Our Team
Rona always had a love of horses from a very young age. She worked with trainers of pleasure horses, Quarter horses and breaking and showing young Saddlebreds (flat shod). She received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from USC and shortly before married Deleon Jacob where they settled on the family farm, now known as Georgetown Equestrian Center. Rona focused on Hunters and Deleon focused on Quarter horses and cutting horses. DeLeon wanted a spotted horse (Paint) that Rona was reluctant about, yet they got their first foal in 1981 and then bought a stallion the following year and that became the start of a breeding program for these lovely Paint horses. GEC customers also started to appreciate the quality of the breed and enjoying the culture of the Paint community. Rona wants to continuously improve the quality of our horse and rider teams while also fostering a love of horses at the barn.
