HUGS FOR HORSES - Therapeutic riding program

The mission of Hugs for Horses Therapeutic Riding Program is to transform the lives of people with disabilities through effective, safe, and joyful therapeutic and recreational horseback riding and horse experiences, without regard to ethnicity, gender, religion, or ability to pay.
— Rona Jacobs

Hugs for Horses, Therapeutic Riding Program founded in 1988, provides children and adults with physical, intellectual, and behavioral disabilities the healing power of horses to change their outcomes in life.

Rona Jacobs, owner of the Equestrian Center and renowned professional horse trainer and riding instructor, realized long ago that horseback riding provides a package of physical, psychological, and social benefits that are especially effective and valuable for people who are differently abled.

Our horses help children and adults in our Georgetown community with a variety of diagnoses: autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, emotional disabilities, muscular dystrophy, sight and hearing impairments, and spina bifida, to name a few.

Partnered with Georgetown County Board of Disabilities and special Needs.

Please visit the Hugs for Horses website for more information to participate, donate or volunteer!

When so many cannot, HUGS CAN!!!
